What’s required? Strong grammar and spelling, excellent general knowledge, fast typing, quick decision-making, and strong reasoning ability.

They give you alot of other qualifications of course.

By the end of the email it sounds like they need a Cray Super Computer instead of human being.

But then they got to the pay:

Expeditors do many more transactions than a Generalist or Specialist. Expeditors are paid a $.02 base rate with a $.01 quality incentive. Since everybody and their dog is bottling water (some from the city tap!) and the old like goes “Evian is naive spelled backwards” there may well be a niche you can exploit here, no pun intended about the well.

Here’s what I’d do… look for something to set your water apart from the crowd.

For instance, does it have high magnesium content (but not have a laxative effect)?

I’d try to discreetly market based on health issues described here http://www.mgwater.com/

If there’s some history to your land, play on that… the “George Washington drank water here” (corny, but you get my meaning).

These take research on your part to determine why people should buy YOUR water.

I truly believe that any “free” medical transcription course is just a come on to get you locked into another course.  If you want personal help from real medical transcriptionists and want to learn the business, then you’re going to pay real money.

But I believe it’s worth it if you really want to work at home.  We GLADLY paid several thousand for the course and hundreds more for books and equipment and these have paid off well.

Home Medical Transcription isn’t a get rich quick scheme… it’s a home based occupation that calls for training to get a job and make money. I doubt any free course is going to take you very far!

I am an instructor at a 2-year college in __________(USA). We offer a MT certificate and I teach Medical Transcription courses. …

Many students are attracted by the thought of being able to work from home transcribing for local health care facilities.

Our current program does not prepare students for this type of work. It introduces them to Medical Transcription but that is about all.

I would like to revise our program so that we are able to provide students with marketable skills and also serve the future needs of our community in this field.

Any advice you could offer would be very much appreciated.

I commend this person for writing.  If a business claimed to teach “Medical Transcription” and did as little actual, useful training as most of these state colleges, the business would be shut down for false advertising.

So beware… many Community Colleges that PROMISE “Medical Transcription” training rarely have the genuine product.

I suggested they contact Oak Horizons which works through community colleges to offer top notch MT training.  My wife trained through them… it’s excellent!

Where to begin?

Here are some ideas I passed along that build on the person’s knowledge and experience and – from what I was told in the email – love of writing.

The advantage you seem to have is in the home improvement field.

If you love to write, why not…

1. Create an ebook on “Secrets Of Remodeling The Never Tell You At The Big Box Home Stores” or something and get set up to sell it online (even if only through paypal) or upload it to LuLu.com so they can download it from there or buy it as a book.

2. Write articles on remodeling for Associated Content. That seems to be a hot topic there because it’s home improvement, do it yourself etc. You already know alot about what their readers want. They call your topic “evergreen”… people read about it year round.

3. Put your domain for your ebook in the in your resource links in all your Associated Content articles.

You’ll make money from each article they accept, make money whenever people view the articles and make money whenever people buy your book.

Just an idea. It also builds on what you’re doing now.

Well, let’s see.

Go to Associated Content and search for “home improvement” articles.

1. Write about what’s missing, what others have written you can improve upon, write consumer tips.

2. Sell it to them as “Non-Exclusive” (so you can compile it in your ebook) even if you only get a few dollars per article.

3. Link every article back to your existing home page since you don’t have an ebook web page yet.

I was also thinking that you could include a discount coupon in the book (e.g. up to $100 off for $1,000 or more labor or something).

You could use it to get local business.

Maybe you could also use it to generate leads for other contractors… “Call about a specialist in your area” or something. That’s down the road of course.

This way you can experiment and practice writing and have others who are already writing in the field suggest topics.

I cannot tell you about all online courses.

If you use the Oak Horizons link, you will ABSOLUTELY get the best training even though it is “online”. They are the only school I can recommend. Depending on where you live you can get some “class time” but my wife did hers 100% online.

BTTB tried to creat blogs with legitimate content but to create them with maximum search engine visibility because the engines liked the “fresh” content of the blogs.

In the last year I’ve noticed that blogger – in the attempt to crack down on spam blogs – was really overpolicing any legitimate blog on a “spammy” topic, e.g. “cell phones” or “ringtones” etc.

Also, Google particularly is working to reward constantly updated content and penalize even the “fresh” content that’s just blog scrapings from around the web that’s produced in order to “look” human.

Unique content on a regularly updated blog is still the best way to go, but you really need to care about your topic and you won’t be able to have more than a few good, regularly updated blogs at most… not hundreds used by these pre-crackdown techniques.

I find it especially difficult to answer.

I’m interesting to work from home & I really like to find my option, most of the sites that checked were a scam sites, I’m looking something real that I can start earning. I will appreciate your help. Please advise…

Here’s why that’s so hard to answer – it’s an individual question. Not knowing the person’s skills, personality, track record or income goals, it’s impossible to give any single answer. You need to find something you LOVE doing and can afford to keep doing in case success takes longer than you think (almost always!) Here’s what I wrote.

I think that ultimately, you need to find something that interests you and that you can do enough to make money. Usually that means you will end up tailoring something to your skills, personality, and interests.

One of the mentors I like best is Skip Rosell. By seeing how he takes a concept and develops it, it can help you get your own juices flowing.

I’m no expert, though I do have a keen interest in the field.

One inquiry came from a farmer whose particular farm has lots of sawdust available.

We got to wondering how you turned the cellulose in sawdust into something that could be fermented into ethanol. Right now ethanol producers use corn, but there’s talk of using switch grass instead because of it’s cellulose content.

So, we wondered, can you use sawdust?

The answer is yes.

Here’s an article from Green-Trust.org on that very topic.

Though animals break down cellulose in ther digestive system enzymatically, this process uses sulfuric acid.

Cellulose is a long chain carbohydrate that must be broken down into consituent sugars in order to be fermented for biofuel from ethanol.

Sulfuric acid breaks down the long chains into constituent sugars so they can be processed.
Obviously, you can only use this process under very controlled situations because it can be very dangerous! Please do not play around with this unless you know what you’re doing! Neither we nor the Green Trust website takes responsibility for your use or abuse of the information!

Based on what this farmer told me, there are many farms that could go a long way towards energy self sufficiency using biofuel techniques. More power to them!
