According to Money News (free registration), White Collar Outsourcing Could Boom Soon as Fortune 500 companies seek to save $58 billion dollars annually.
These companies have reportedly become much more confident in the ability of foreign workers to do analytical and other back office tasks kept onshore till now.  
 

The Associated Press reported today the Ford has started the layoffs… 10,000 down amidst reports of buy out offers made to all hourly union employees.
While we hope they were planning ahead it’s quite likely few really believed in the dangers of these layoffs enough to prepare in advance.

The news came as a shock to everyone, especially the employees… What news? That Intel would be laying off 10,500 employees.
