It was before the Internet was really hot. I did some early work talking about the use of the internet for sales letters back then before everybody was a promise the sky do it yourself copywriter.

One thing we didn’t have was a tool for online registrations. That might have come in handy at times.

I was reminded of that by a friend who wanted to know about such services. Here’s what he found and passed along to me: Eventville

At $39.99 plus $1.99 and they process the fees, that’s a great deal.

I guess that’s why big companies like AT&T, IBM, and Shell use them. You can see some of their other clients here.

… This emailer was upset because John’s home page wasn’t 100% clear on what free membership included.

Unlike most who’d get mad and chalk it up as a complainer, John instead tweaked his home page (and even sent the emailer a free gift).

Needless to say, the person was pleasantly surprised. And this single tweak is already paying off nice dividends.

That just goes to show that if Bart Simpson can have Springfield Vermont as his fictional home and not have a New England accent, anything is possible including having wild success in all your work at home ventures and never having an advertisement that isn’t profitable!
