In the movie Field of Dreams we were introduced to the immortal line “If you build it, they will come”.
When it comes to online stores, people can act as if this line was their motto too. They build a website in cyberspace and assume that just because people can buy a million products there that someone will actually come and do so.
That might work if you’re Amazon.com with plenty of links coming in from affiliates who are essentially creating content, but even Amazon is doing a better job with providing product content these days.
What about the work at home entrepreneur who wants to set up an online store?
