More on How To Make Money With Hub Pages – Case Study

Ok, I’ve been fascinated with HubPages recently and here’s another post on that fascination.

Here’s the blog post: Make Money Online With HubPages Experiment Complete

What I find fascinating is that this person tried to see if they could make money in 30 days on HubPages – and they did!

Here are the results:

The total amount made during the 30 day experiment was $475.26. This includes the income from the first four weeks plus the income from days 29 and 30.

By my standards this experiment went amazingly well. A lot of other people have also created a lot of hubs in fact I know of more than one person who took this experiment bigger than I did. This makes me really happy because those people learned during this month that you can do really great things if you’re willing to work harder than other people.

Now, what this person did that most of us don’t have time to do was to build 40 hubs the first week and that many again in the next few weeks while going back and “tweaking” the original hubs. Since a hub can take 1 to 2 hours to make, this person must have invested about 60 hours the first week and a significant amount of time the next weeks!

Most of us don’t have time to invest that kind of time if we hold a “day job” or have other projects, but it’s still an awesome outcome. Depending on how well the hubs rank, they’ll continue to bring in revenue every month. Will they bring in $500 per month? It all depends on search patterns for the keywords (some hubs and keywords are “seasonal”) – but whatever continues to come in can’t hurt, can it?

Most new internet marketers build a hub without this critical step though:

My basic philospohy is that you need to know whether you can rank for a keyword or not before you go after it.

Did you catch that?

I totally agree. You must use some kind of research like MicroNicheFinder to identify some crucial factors…

1. What keyword gets a good number of monthly searches?

2. Of these keywords, which one has the least competition?

Those two factors will determine which key word to choose.

I check the validity of my final keyword choices using a tool called Web Comp Analyst.

I type in my chosen “keyword” into Web Comp Analyst and have it do it’s analysis. Then I double check the competition.

You see, this last analysis lets you know if you can beat your competition based on “backlinks” to the exact page and to the site overall.

1. About total links to the site. Hub Pages have 2,346,081 inbound links. Your individual hub can compete well against sites with fewer inbound links.

2. About links to the exact page. How many links does Web Comp Analyst show for your competitor’s page?

If the total links to the domain is less than Hub Pages and you can meet or beat the number of backlinks to your hub, you stand a good chance of cornering that particular keyword niche.

I’ve had good results with Web Comp Analyst and MicroNicheFinder and market them. Fantastic tools to help you identify and dominate keyword niches. “Just add HubPage content.”

Recap:

1. Research (using above tools)

2. Write

3. Create a first series of hubs

4. Backlink and upgrade existing Hubs

5. Participate in Hub community to enhance Hubscores

6. Repeat Steps 1-5 until you have reached your desired income level or found something better.
