Some dastardly criminals were finally apprehended…. those nefarious people who dared to hold a garage sale without purchasing a $5 “license” in Logansport, IN and for posting “Illegal Signs”.
The fine for having a garage sale without the $5 license is $10. Plus there’s a fine for the signs…$100 per sign up to $300.
Most “defendants” pleaded not guilty at “trial”.
They had never heard of such stupid laws and rules.
The statement “ignorance of the law is no excuse” is only true in a culture when elected officials can’t dream up laws at a whim.
