I’ve noticed a trend… you can see it here where Wells Fargo “bought” Wachovia in a federal government sponsored “sale”…
They had to downsize the local operations but some of the work force would be allowed to relocate and transfer or work at home.
It seems like increasingly in these corporate takeovers, they are trying to sweeten the bad news by not only allowing people to relocate to new jobs but also on a smaller scale to telecommute and work from home.
The lesson?
If you are involved in a corporate buyout with resulting downsizing, it’s important to ask … “could I work at home” and keep my job? Some people are being given that option – why not you?

It is really a good thing that the option of working at home has become very significant to many people. It is a fact that not all people can afford to work far away from their home. However, it would be efficient if one could both have a decent job in a company and earn extra from a home-based job.
