From Fox41.com: BBB Warns of Delta Airlines Scam
This is a new twist on an old scam that’s been seen again and again. Why Delta would recruit mystery shoppers for some other reason than to improve their own business and send out checks for thousands of dollars to people?
Letters that look as if they’re from Delta offer people a chance to act as a mystery shopper. The letter came with a check for $4,973 to be deposited into the mystery shopper’s bank. Then the shopper would spend some of that money at WalMart, K-Mart, Home Depot, Sears, JC Penny, or Best Buy. More of the money would be spent with MoneyGram or Western Union.
One consumer who received the letter said the offer “sounded fishy” because she was not a Delta Sky Miler member. The BBB believes her name was picked at random.
