I won’t steal their thunder, and suggest you read their article directly, but here’s my takeaway…
A. Remember that every freelancer starts out as their own “marketing department”. What are you doing every day to market yourself?
B. Have you made a list of 100 people you know to tell about your business and, at least, ask for referrals. It’s not necessarily who you know, but who those you know are connected with. We rarely FORCE ourselves to think of these people and it’s even more rare that we work through this list asking for referrals. Will you make that list today?
C. Develop FOLLOW THROUGH, complete your project, do it with excellence, thank them, then check back in a few weeks to open the door for referrals and repeat business.
