But here’s Steve Weber’s take on it: Q&A: Are books the best product to sell on Amazon?. What I note is that Steve does admit that it may be wise to diversify, but that even when making mistakes, he feels it’s still possible to triple his money selling books on Amazon!.

I suppose the takeaway for me is … if you can find something that sells well on Amazon.com besides books, test it and see if you like it. Are the margins “worth it”?

But many people still think of Amazon as “books” first, despite its wide array of products.
