One of the major mistakes I see new would be online marketers doing is

A) Buying a domain name

B) Building a website

C) Then wondering why nobody visits

One of the crucial keys for mastering any niche are the backlinks to any given domain and that includes their “anchor text”…

So even if you have the best, most “keyword optimized” site, unless you have those links back to you, you’re going to be in trouble.

And if you choose a niche where the top website in Google has thousands of backlinks, there’s the distinct possibility you’ll never get the traffic you want.

That’s where identifying a keyword niches comes in.  The videos mentioned in the emails you receive when you subscribe to How to get started online!

The MicroNicheFinder tool lets you analyze hundreds of keyword niches quickly and some of the important information they give is the number of backlinks to the leading sites in that niche.

Of course, you’ll have to make sure you get the backlinks to your site… but it’s better to know what you’re up against BEFORE you get started.

As an anecdote, as someone who’s created websites for people, it’s not unusual for them to want a particular domain name and style without any regard to whether anyone in the universe is is seeking information on that subject, or the way they are planning to present that topic.

Avoid that problem for yourself by knowing what you’re up against before you buy that domain name! Then know, up front, how many backlinks you’ll need to grab your share of the people who search for your keyword niches monthly.
