That’s one of the good things about failure, if you calculate your risk well and don’t lose your home every time you take an entrepreneurial gamble, then one day or other if you keep at it, you can figure out what really DOES work for you.
It’s a process of knowledge accumulation… like blind squirrels finding enough nuts for winter given enough time and sheer persistence.
Here’s an example from my experience … I decided to use my knowledge of internet marketing to get my church’s website on the first page of Google. So far, I have kept it on the first page of Google for a year.
Using the techniques I learned, it’s actually THREE PLACES on the first page of Google.
What I’ve learned since then is how churches (and businesses in general) rank for local listings in Google, and I have a pretty good idea of how to make a front page “siting” on Google a done deal for most places.
For some churches, I’m doing this for free.
For others – it could become a profit center if I wanted to charge and they wanted to pay. There’s a certain amount of satisfaction seeing yourself on the first page of Google. Knowing how to get there multiple times increases the marketing odds of any business of course, churches included.
If your church wants on the first page of Google, contact me.
What have you found working this way?
