WordPress is becoming an easy choice for affiliate marketers. Though I have been using Affliate Genie (affiliate link) of late INSTEAD of wordpress for a variety of reasons, WordPress is still a great option for many instances.

In the latest version (2.9) I’m hearing that people who are creating websites they desperately WANT to be found by Google, Yahoo, and Bing found that the default on their installed wordpress blot is to block search engine spiders!!!!
Ouch!
I’ve never had this happen before… perhaps some WordPress purist is ashamed at how wordpress has become so commercialized and just wanted to shoot down as many people as possible who would not think to check this setting!
Anyone using WordPress as an affiliate platform definitely WANTS the search engines NOT to be blocked!
So if you create a WordPress affiliate site, built backlinks and your site hasn’t been indexed – this could be why!

Those using Facebook regularly should be aware of new privacy settings there too which sort of negate the purpose of sharing on a social network…if you don’t remember to set all levels to public, that is. I’m not clear who these settings are designed to protect and really think anyone should know better than to share highly personal info on a social network no matter how high the security settings. Social media is about what you WANT to share not about what you don’t.

I agree with the post and comment all wordpress and social bookmarking sites should watch there privacy settings. Be as private as you can with everything there are an awful lot of people out there who seem to be able to access all sorts of accounts. Your right Shawn social media is about what you want to share not about what you don’t!!
