So much of the incentive and discussion to start your own work at home business is centered on what you lack.
You lack money.
You lack time with your children.
You lack freedom.
You lack enjoyment in your “day job”.
You lack a Ferrari or other adult toy.
You lack freedom from debt.
The solution is a prepackaged business approach (MLM,study course, or thing you buy) to remedy your lack.
This is a tried and true business model for selling things, but it overlooks the reason many people fail with pre-packaged approaches, namely, we are different. We bring different, skills, experience, desires to the table. For some narrow subset of society any given prepackaged business solution will be ideal. Others of us will have to ADAPT those prepackaged solutions because ultimately conforming ourselves to them will likely fail in the long term.
What’s a better solution?
First, identify your assets.
What are those strengths, interests, experiences, desires, affinities that set you apart?
Can you bake biscuits like nobody’s business?
Can you write?
Do you love to jog?
What does set you apart from others you know?
How can this asset become a natural strength as you pursue a business plan?
You may not get rich quicker or at all, but at least you’ll be focusing on what you have to offer and what you enjoy instead of simply focusing on what you lack – that only makes you easy prey for a sales pitch!
