Amazon Associates integrates with Twitter

Have a great following on Twitter? Do you have many friends, fans, readers or other audience? If you can resist the temptation to do nothing but tweet Amazon Associate links, you can at least potentially get paid for what you’re reading, listening to, or using that’s for sale at the online giant.

That’s because Amazon now allows Associates to “Share on Twitter”.  When you’re an Associate, and you’re logged into your account, you can view any product page and click “Share on Twitter”.

How do you comply with the FTC on this? I have no idea. Put it in your profile? 140 characters definitely limits your disclaimers! With the next to nothing you may earn from this anyway, will a disclaimer be needed? I don’t know … so use at your own discretion!

Here’s what you’ll see on Amazon as of (from what I can tell) yesterday when you’re logged into your account!

NonProfits who use this could simply say “Fundraiser” prior to tweeting. That might be a good thing for them! I’m sure this will catch on…just don’t abuse it!

Happy Tweeting.
