There’s just one draw back to using WordPress for static websites.
If you don’t update the sites regularly, they can become security nightmares as new hacks develope for old WordPress sites.
That means YES, use WordPress for static websites but PLEASE be sure to update to the new versions of WordPress as they become stable.
Otherwise your website could be put out of commission… or into commission for someone else without your knowledge!
