Using Twitter to Promote Your Online Store

March 25, 2009 by Chuck | 1 Comment

When you use Twitter, you don’t want to spam people with all your junk. Twitter is about relationships and word of mouth.

But here’s an ebay store that sells one of my favorite things… MOLESKINE notebooks.

With something like Moleskine, it’s possible (hopefully) to send out messages worthy of word of mouth and not just spam ‘buy my stuff’ or ‘special offer’.

That’s because Moleskine’s are memorable… unique in some ways. And whether it is actually the notebook famous people used, it is still very cool to fans like me.

If you’re using twitter to market, keep the tweets as memorable and fun as possible. Save the hard sell for elsewhere.

It sounds like a great product, but I hope they start interacting a little bit more on Twitter. It would be more beneficial for them to chat with their followers than to keep promoting the product!
