Why Are IPhone Users Willing To Pay For Content?

I noticed the New York Times is even asking out loud: Why are IPhone Users Willing To Pay For Content?

As an iphone user myself, I don’t know the answer. But I have paid up to $9.99 for a “to do list” application and consider it a great investment. I doubt I’d spend that much for a comparable PC based or MAC based program on a desktop or laptop computer. Those devices aren’t handy enough – literally – for me to recover my investment. They’re more a pain than a help. The To Do list on my iphone however is super and I wouldn’t exchange it for the free version.

Despite the mystery of “why do people buy there?” as the article notes: “the iTunes App store is shaping up to be a surprisingly viable way to sell all sorts of information and entertainment.”

Bottom Line: you can make money that’s worth your while through micro payments, checking out How To Create iPhone Applications yourself is an excellent investment of your time.
