TXT Signal lets you text message your customers

February 7, 2009 by Chuck | 0 Comments

Connecting with your audience by text message is all the rage. Most businesses do it by having the customer text first. Some spammers just steal phone numbers however they can.

But this service Txtsignal.com lets you have people sign up on line for text messages for a particular group or purpose.

I can see its use for grass roots mobilization… for colleges wanting an emergency notification system for their students … for schools or organizations wanting to send out closing information in the event of bad weather up… ice, snow, tornado, etc.

But how could a business use this? I guess it’s much less easy to “block out” than email messages. But it’s also much more expensive.

I can see it being used for restaurants wanting to get people a coupon or something.

I’d like to hear your ideas… why would a business use this service over email, twitter, etc.?
