Small Businesses Cut Costs Through Renegotiations

February 6, 2009 by Chuck | 3 Comments

Right now, the Wall Street Journal is saying that small businesses are cutting costs through renegotiation.

I think the article is worth reading and trying. For instance, I heard of a home business person who planned to save money by slashing an extra phone line. When she called to cut off the line entirely they said “If we give you a permanent credit, will you keep the line for $___ per month?” It was dirt cheap… an 80% reduction with no loss of service!

In my experience though, most small business people feel they should pay their own way and are a bit too prideful to engage in this tactic.

But screw up your courage and try it. This big phone company preferred something to nothing at all.

I know cutting costs is important in today’s economy. I would like to help that in our world today. I am finishing school soon and need to build my portfolio as I search for my future employer. I will offer any small business that needs a web site design to email me for a Free web design. I only ask that when I am finished I be able to show that web site off. I will email you back the details of how I can do this for you. Only serious inquires please. Thanks.

cutting costs can help a lot right now. I wouldn’t suggest attempting to get something for nothing, but cutting out what you don’t really need can save a lot of money in the long run.

Almost everyone is trying to cut cost one way or another. It seems like the way to go base on the present condition of our economy. I am not saying that cutting cost is a bad thing to do but we need to realize helps to put the economy in the situation it’s in. Most companies lay off people because they wanted to cut cost. the more people get laid off result in less people have money to spend which result in more jobs cut to cut cost.
