Businesses Use Recognition to Motivate in Lean Times

Businesses everywhere are facing cash flow issues. You likely heard the news of this Christmas shopping season where businesses just wanted to sell ANYTHING to generate cash flow and stay alive. In this type of environment, motivation can count enormously and a program of corporate recognition and corporate awards may be in order. While sales people DO like money, a customized trophy may be the “frosting on the cake” to stroke the kind of ego that is behind maximum sales performance.

In addition to motivating sales staff, helping motivate your customers may work as well to create word of mouth advertising to supplement any “traditional” advertising businesses still have planned. For example, if your business markets to local little league athletic teams, a program that offers, for example, soccer trophies or football trophies (in order to have a promotion going on all year long) could help a local business with their marketing too.

How? By providing trophies at the end of the season(s) and using the occasion as a method to gather print, radio, and other media coverage.

Recognizing staff and customers inexpensively and getting the most “mileage” out of it should be considered in lean cash flow times to maximize a businesses marketing efforts.
