Qualcomm: Internet Access Without A Computer

November 13, 2008 by Chuck | 1 Comment

Qualcomm plans to link people to the internet without the necessity of a personal computer.

Piggybacking on the increasing availability of 3G wireless networks in developing nations, Qualcomm can enable people in developing nations to access the internet without a traditional computer.

Once online, people unable to afford sophisticated home computers or packaged software will be able to tap into a “cloud computing” trend in which applications are offered online as free services.

Worldwide, this will allow many to start online businesses or expand traditional businesses by reducing the cost of technology.

It also expands the market for existing businesses if they are able to serve these emerging markets.
