Gas Selling 12 Cents Below Cost In Some Markets

According to USA Today, gas is under $2 per gallon in many metro areas. In some areas, there’s even a PRICE WAR going on.

Here’s what one station owner had to say:

“In the Indianapolis market, some competitors were so eager to go below $2 that we had a price war,” says Jay Ricker, who owns 54 BP and Marathon stations in Indiana and supplies an additional 40.

At one of his stations outside Indianapolis, “We’re at $1.86, and that’s 12 cents below cost, before credit card fees,” in order to stay competitive, he said Monday.

“Make hay while the sun shines” as the saying goes if you can use the price decreases to somehow increase your travel and thereby increase your work at home business profits.

With the economy so uncertain, John Wesley’s advice “Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can” seems newly relevant.
