Bartering Increases As Credit Disappears. It happens all the time. Credit dries up. Money is not available, but people have products and services to trade. It’s called “non market wealth”. It’s called “excess inventory” or “underutilized assets”. But whatever you call it, it’s a potential resource for staying in business or building your business if you know how to work it.

This article is about some clever business people using their resources to build their business by barter. It gives some excellent ideas that might help you too. Remember, knowing how to build a website for a small business is something you can barter… or helping them sell on Ebay… or any number of online skills. Don’t sell yourself short.

Here’s a book you might want to check out … it’s a quick and easy guide on the subject of bartering: How To Make Big Bucks With Your Bartering Skills

Caveat: remember there are state and federal tax implications to bartering. Some self-proclaimed “Barter groups” were targeted in years past by the IRS as tax evasion schemes. They would bust them and then prosecute the members. You don’t need that. If you join a barter group, please make sure its on the up and up and not some outfit that is not a shadow “tax evasion” group. Make sure they help their members track the tax ramifications and discuss this with your professional advisers.
