Mum Uses Corporate Savvy To Start Working At Home

September 27, 2008 by Chuck | 0 Comments

This was smart. An Australian mom becomes a corporate executive. The 7am to 6pm days are becoming a drag and she decides she wants to work at home.

What does she do?

Get on the internet and decide which is the best of the worst “get rich quick schemes”?

No… she goes with what she knows.

She’s already a corporate executive, so what she does, as the article says, is “she looked at the most profitable divisions of her employer for inspiration.”

“The phone bill is a monthly expense that everyone willingly pays. It’s recurrent revenue. I thought, ‘what else is a monthly, recurrent expense? Cleaning!’.

“It fitted perfectly my life-by-design vision. It’s a growth industry in a time-poor society. I wanted a business that would work for me; at home.”

Smart thinking.

It makes you ask… what, from your own experience, do you know is “working” and likely will continue to work that you can tap into without a large overhead or up front investment?

As an executive, she hires cleaning teams instead of doing it herself. It’s an interesting story. Maybe there are “acres of diamonds” right under your nose too and you’re too busy listening to the “get rich quick” crowd???

That’s something we all should ponder from time to time…
