100-store Southeastern Waffle House franchisee files for Chapter 11
In the Southeastern US, a Waffle House seems to be at every interchange. They are still old fashioned “greasy spoon” eateries in many places. But they’re open when you need them and the food sticks to your ribs even if it’s not what the high and mighty dine on in the Hamptons.
I don’t get to one often enough to know if they have WiFi. I don’t suspect I’d linger long in one just to work anyway.
So the thought of losing some Waffle House locations isn’t because I’ll run out of Wi Fi hotspots anytime soon. It’s just sort of like, losing a good friend you thought would always “be there” if you know what I mean.
Maybe they’ll be able to pull out of this or keep the locations open.
Sentimentality is doing me in over this headline! I don’t know why it just struck me funny.
