I’ve been cruising affiliate sites on the web just to see what’s out there… get more ideas about what I DO want to do and what I DON’T want to do as I build websites myself.
With all the great templates available, you can set up websites REALLY fast.
But just because it’s fast doesn’t mean it’s RIGHT.
Here’s the “About” section on one such site. Nobody bothered to change the “About” on the blog template part of the site! Sorta funny… or sad.
So yes, while cool templates MUST be used for a decent site these days (there are lots of free WordPress templates), PLEASE edit them before your site goes live.
When sites look so obviously slapped together, people think… do I really want to do business with this person?
My Two Top Picks For Affiliate Website Creation:
If you are an aspiring affiliate marketer hoping to take advantage of Ebay’s potential for affiliate dollars (50% commission on auction fees when products sell through your link) you want to know about these two tools:
If you’re completely new to online marketing, you want to get a hosting account and then invest in Build A Niche Store. It takes you step by step through the process of building an Ebay affiliate store.
If you are a bit more experienced and have experience with WordPress blogs you want to check out PHPBay. This script functions like a plugin for WordPress that lets you easily post relevant ebay auction listings on any blog post or page. Both are excellent ways to get started tapping into the Ebay affiliate marketplace. If you have experience with WordPress already, I’d definitely point you towards PHPBay! PHPBay also has a script for .php sites that aren’t based on WordPress blogs, so don’t feel left out…
