Can’t Join Just One - Social Networks, That Is

Wow, I’ve been spending some time recently trying to learn and build some contacts on Facebook and Twitter. I’m using those two because by updating one, namely Twitter, I can automatically update my status on the other. And, besides, lots of people seem to be using Facebook as some middle path between MySpace which many marketers feel has a bad reputation for doing business and some of the purely business networks.

But just as you start figuring your way around ONE of the networks, it seems a contact of yours joins another social network and you get all these invitations from somewhere else.

The insanity has to stop somewhere, so I suggest learning your way around ONE and building a significant contact base before joining multiple ones and never doing anything on any of them.

If you’re looking for NEW contacts, after all, for business, etc. it will be a long time before you exhaust, for instance, the 90 million active users on Facebook just because you got a new invite from, say, your buddy on bebo.com
