I found out about this yesterday.
What’s diesel cost per gallon in your town?
Here today it’s in the $4.50+ range.
If you could sell people diesel fuel for $3.50, do you think they’d line up all day to buy from you and save $1.00 per gallon?
Gas was $3.74 when I filled up tonight. I’d like to have paid $3.50 for THAT!
Anyway, this guy I found out about in a town in this region goes to truck stops and pumps out the contaminated diesel fuel spill, water, trash and other junk that “run off” and accumulate in special catchment tanks at these places.
He fills up these huge tanks and essentially “recycles” it so that the end product is diesel fuel he can resell - for $3.50 per gallon (or lower I assume).
Of course he runs his own trucks on this first so he’s essentially not paying ANYTHING for fuel.
I suspect his problem is having enough diesel fuel to sell!
Here’s what I didn’t find out… you know how you pay a “septic tank” gut to pump your septic tank if you live in a rural area?
They are probably PAYING this guy to pump out this stuff… or else he’s able to do it at a discount!
It’s always good to have a way to recycle what people pay you to haul off as “trash”!
