As I became burned out working as a nurse, I used to think that I wished that I'd made a different career decision because I thought I could never work from home. But last year I learned that, while I can't do clinical nursing, I can work from home as a nurse. I work the hours I choose. If I can't sleep in the middle of the night, I can get up and work. If I am tired during the day, I can take a break or a nap. If I want to work long hours for a few days and take the rest of the week off, I can. I actually do get to eat regular meals now, something I rarely got to do as a clinical nurse. I'm loving the money I save with my car parked in the garage. And every day is casual Friday! In addition, it has given me the chance to start my own business apart from my regular j.o.b.
