I don’t have any domains with Yahoo these days. This really is unbelievable and another way of saying “We don’t want your business!”
As seen on Web Worker Daily: Yahoo Raises Domain Renewal Price to $34.95
It’s unbelievable really. Hopefully you’re not being hit by this price increase. If so, change to one of many others.

The way to find cheap domains: do a google search upon “$3 domain” or “$4 domain”
That’s it…
But always read the fine prints, because many are offering $3 domain with a $15 renewal or so.
And avoid at all cost godaddy.

I have my domains with Yahoo and my domain renewal fee only increased by a couple dollars. It’s now $12.95 each, up from $9.95 each for my domains.
However, if it gets any higher I will be transferring from Yahoo to my host which costs only $12 each.

Oh yeah I forgot you should never ever pay more than $9 for a .com
And that’s really the upper limit, as I described you can find much cheaper easily

It looks like many person in the same boat! I heard that Yahoo make no profit with domain business and they are looking for the way to minimize this loss by increase domain prices. Yes, it is the time to act for Yahoo domains now. I have found new registar with cheap domain transfers rates and I will start moving now!
As the increase infomation has been sent out by email from Yahoo and you see nothing about pricing increase from your Yahoo domain account so for sure, many persons (did not read the email well) will cry when they see the bill!!!

I had bought a bunch of 1.99 domain names from Yahoo a couple of years ago and switching them was a huge hassle because I had sites in front of the search engines and the time it took to switch.
