A Universal Instant Messenger Tool For Business

June 21, 2008 by Chuck | 0 Comments

From what I read, it’s “OLD PEOPLE” who use Instant Messaging!

I guess I’m old… I use it through Google itself and Gmail’s ability to use AIM. But here’s a good article with some practical tips on the business use of instant message software.

Pidgin.im is a multi protocol software that handles virtually any IM system you want to use:

  • AIM
  • Bonjour
  • Gadu-Gadu
  • Google Talk
  • Groupwise
  • ICQ
  • IRC
  • MSN
  • MySpaceIM
  • QQ
  • SILC
  • SIMPLE
  • Sametime
  • XMPP
  • Yahoo!
  • Zephyr

Pidgin is free software. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2. This means you are free to use it and to modify it, but if you distribute your modifications you must distribute the modified source code as well.

(No worries about modifying it and distributing it with me!)
