This just caught my eye as I was surfing at Amazon.com… Amazon.com is now offering “Pay Per Click” ads for your online marketing pleasure.
Unlike other pay per click systems, you could actually upload your customer catalog, set pay per click limits, and advertise away. The people who click are sent to your site and purchase through you.
It’s not for every category yet. Product Ads are currently displayed in the following categories: Baby, Computers, Consumer Electronics, Home & Garden, Watches(requires special access), Office Products, Tools & Home Improvement and Toys. If that’s not you, they’ll email you when your niche opens up if you sign up with them now. Here’s their pitch:
Why Amazon.com Product Ads?
Amazon.com Customers are Active Shoppers
According to Nielsen//NetRatings, more than 85% of Amazon’s 44 million monthly active U.S. visitors are likely to have made a purchase online in the last 30 days — this is nearly 45% more than on the leading search engines*. With Product Ads, your items will be viewed by active Amazon shoppers, resulting in incremental sales to your e-commerce web site.
Optimize your Advertising Investment
Take complete control of your advertising budget. There are no monthly fees - you are charged only when an Amazon shopper clicks on your ad and is taken to your web site. You control not only the maximum price you are willing to pay for that click, but also your daily budget. This allows you to measure the return on your advertising investment and optimize your budget accordingly.
Ease of Use
The advertiser web interface allows you to manage your product advertising business on amazon.com. Once you upload your product catalog and set your cost-per-click bids, Amazon will display targeted ads that link directly to the item on your web site. These targeted ads will display on select Amazon product and search pages. If your product is new to the amazon.com catalog, a new product page will be created using your item title and description and your ad will display on that page.
