21 Signs of a Work At Home Rip Off

Undress4Success has a good introduction to how scams get “recycled” again and again. The names change but these 21 “themes” keep recurring. Some things though are overgeneralizations that make for good lists but might not be universally true. Take this one for example:

#2 — Send us money and . . .

We’ll send you a list of employers , we’ll share our secrets for how you can make millions, we’ll enroll you in our exclusive club . . . and we’ll take you to the cleaners.

Basically ANY book or tape can be written off for this reason… even if it were actually legitimate. The issue is the degree of hyperbole used in the sales literature usually. But you could conceivably send someone money, buy business information, and make some good money.

The problem is that you can NEVER get rich or make money from any information product without WORK.

I guess what I’m saying is that while you can use this tip as a clue to pay close attention and seek to confirm it on your own, if you NEVER buy any information anywhere ever, then you will never learn anything new.

What I’ve often found is that based on the sales letter for a really expensive product, I’ve usually been able to piece together the information from other sources. Of course, after the time involved you might not be ahead if you value your time.

But aside from that caveat, you’ll be better off following these tips scrupulously than not!
