Just in time for lunch in the Central Time Zone, we have this case of a marketing message gone awry because it’s offensive.
The chain in question is Sheetz, a gasoline-convenience store operation with operations in South Central Pennsylvania and the surrounding region.
Unfortunately offensive words are so commonplace (count the number of “F bombs” at your next favorite movie), many marketers don’t realize how offensive they’re getting to people. So while many are numbed into considering the word “Frickin” as just another word… many others find it trashy.
Since I can’t remember any other use for the verb “Frickin” besides as a euphemism for the “F bomb”, I see their point.
