I constantly hear about rural areas and home based rural workers for whom having affordable, non-satellite broadband would make earning a living much more likely and reliable.
Certainly it would bring needed streams of income into these rural places and make each area less vulnerable to local income swings and local business downturns.
But in addition to that, one advocacy group equates stimulating broadband today to the impact of the highway system a generation ago.
