From the Nova Scotia News:

Prudential Consulting Inc., a Toronto information technology consulting company that also offers computerized medical transcription services to the health-care industry, will set up an Atlantic Canadian division to organize trained medical transcribers to work from home.

If the workers complete two years with Prudential Consulting Inc., they would be reimbursed a portion of their training costs.

Mr. Khurana said the employees will be provided with computer equipment and will work from home offices to transcribe medical records.

The pay ranges from $33,000 to $35,000 a year.

“We have 100 home-based workers now,” he said.

The trained transcribers could work from any commun-ity in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland and Labrador.

Mr. MacKay said demand for the services offered by the company is tremendous already and growing even more so.

“There is a very serious need for integrated transcription services,” said Mr. MacKay.
