If you were wondering why Google was going through the trouble of digitizing books for Google Book Search (a great service by the way if you’re looking for books!), the reason is shown below. I don’t know how long it’s been happening (I didn’t see it this morning for instance) but on this book search I finally found one with Google Adwords. Maybe it’s been there all along and I just search for books too old to have keywords that are relevant for a sponsor!
So if you’re marketing YOUR book online, perhaps you need to find relevant older books and then try to get inexpensive clicks from people searching for older works. Your ad might highlight how the older work is no longer relevant. It’s worth a try.
