Home Based Cosmetologist Has Unusual Extra Profit Center

I met a home based cosmetologist the other day with an unusual extra profit center, an Aqua Detox machine.

In addition to the haircuts, perms, shampoos and conditioners and the normal products and services for sale in the cosmetology salon attached to her house is a unique machine.

This Aqua Detox machine “detoxes” your body.  I’m normally pretty skeptical about these things and the picture from the site (above) doesn’t do the process justice.

When you hear about people having toxins taken from the body through the pores on your feet, it sounds nuts. If you’re the least bit scientific, you wonder if the water is just changing color due to the minerals in it or the minerals from the electrodes. As their picture shows, the water changes color even without someone’s feet being immersed in the water. Back to this in a second…
Someone had told me about the procedure. She’d been taking it twice per week because of some long standing health challenges that only seemed to get relief from this procedure.

I thought “what the heck? I’ll try it.”

But as I was driving over there I had second thoughts frankly.

What if it were just the water changing color?

What if really that’s all there was?

Was I just wasting my time and money?

I went ahead anyway and was shocked at what happened.

The cosmetologist filled the bowl with tap water.

As the 30 minute session progressed, the water not only changed color but had a weird foam and oily residue.

My feet were clean when I got there… where’d all this foam and sudsing come from? It kept building.

It grew darker first tan, then brown, then a dark greenish brown. There were black flecks in the water

It was obvious this wasn’t just colored water.

It was water with debris collecting in it.

Frankly it was like you had walked barefoot through a cow pasture and used your foot to discover a fresh “cow pie”.

At the end of 30 minutes your feet have to be cleaned off. Mine had to be at least. The brown solid debris was clinging like little clumps to them.

It obviously wasn’t water any more!

It was strange enough, I’ll give it another try.

But this has developed into an interesting little profit center for this cosmetologist in addition to the normal “hair and beauty” business.
