Here’s Entrepreneur Magazine’s list of Top Home Based Franchises for 2008
Here’s their disclaimer:“This ranking is not intended to endorse, promote or recommend any particular franchise company. Instead, it’s meant to be a tool you can use while doing your personal franchise research, which should include interviews with existing franchisees, counsel from your attorney and accountant, and literature such as the Uniform Franchise Offering Circular. As with any business purchase, a thorough, independent investigation must always be your first step toward success.”
In their top 10 list the lowest start up cost for a home based franchise was $2.99K-33.1K. The highest was $97.3K-154.7K. These are the lowest to highest entry figures. The highest possible overall figure quoted as the upper range figure was over $276,000 for a Snap-on tools distributorship! (Their entry point was listed as being as low as $19,800 however).
“Home based” doesn’t mean “cheap”!
