Here’s the latest attempt to steal your PayPal information and, as a result, loot your bank accounts and max out your credit cards.
It’s a phishing email with the subject line that reads “Account Renewal Form”.
PayPal of course doesn’t need you to “renew” your account.
It is quite cleverly done because unless you read the actual html to find the site the link is sending you to, it looks (as you run your mouse over the link) like a “real link”. It’s not
PayPal emails address you by the name on your account, not things like “Dear valued PayPal member”.
Whenever you do get email from your financial institution, it’s best to go to those sites directly and login from there instead of using links…just in case you’ve missed something.
