Like an ape with a new banana, I have suddenly seized on the term “Co Working” thanks to my post on Office Nomads and I wanted to learn more.
To do that I went to the Co Working Wiki and clicked on a region in the US. I found a place where wannabe co-workers can find other folks (potential customers?) who want to get into the co-working thing.
There is even a Co Working Blog
There’s even a Co Working Central site with foreign co working information.
Here’s a Google Map showing co-working spaces.
It’s a worthwhile trend. Will community leaders seize upon is as a relatively low cost way to boost economic growth in depressed towns?
Will non profits like churches or synagogues with extra space use it to generate revenue and do outreach to their community?
Will future Fed Ex/Kinko’s automatically include room for co working? Or will a co working network partner with a competitor to ace out Fed Ex/Kinko’s and UPS Stores?
Who knows?
Have you used a co working space? What’d you think of it?
