Years ago before working online became common, a friend of mine found an interesting way to attract attention to trade show booths for his MLM opportunity.
How?
He had a computer set up with a “test your knowledge” type of quiz.
Because it wasn’t another “sales pitch” it got lots of people to come by and test their knowledge.
During the process he captured their contact information so that he could follow up and because he was offering a “personalized report”.
The ideal thing would be do program a web page with a quiz and send the personalized results by email. Obviously you’re capturing a lead this way and can follow up multiple times by email.
With a laptop you could easily adapt this to marketing online, marketing at a trade show, or if you’re selling at a kiosk in a mall.
Testing a person’s knowledge or risk of danger can attract people and start a conversation.
You can either program this yourself if you’re a cgi whiz or use a commercial product like Opt In Quiz Generator combined with your favorite autoresponder like Aweber.
Let’s say you’re selling health information about high blood pressure.
I actually saw this used recently in an online promotion where the quiz was the landing page.
It asked basic questions about age, gender, your blood pressure, what you were doing to treat it etc.
It then offered to send a report by email.
It was actually a pretty good report.
After giving them your email you were taken to another landing page that offered an information product on natural health cures. I didn’t think that was so well done but the principle was good.
Most landing pages are “instant hype”…
But the quiz format creates “instant interaction” and up to 80% of the visitors will provide an email address so they won’t just be one time contacts.
This can be adapted to almost any business with a little thought and research.
You can direct online ads or article to your quiz, or have a laptop with the quiz web page loaded for use at trade shows or kiosks.
It’s a very versatile technique to help you sell and start creating a RELATIONSHIP with a customer right away through interactivity.
