Rural dial up customers who have no option BUT dial up used to be offered “bundling” packages to get them to use AT&T (then Bell South’s) local, long distance, dial up, and other services in bundles.
But now that they think they can get away with it, AT&T is raising prices on customers who have no other internet options, at least with AT&T.
While the ad below shows AT&T selling DSL service for $19.99 monthly, rural dial up customers are being hit with price increases to $22.95 per month in areas where the odds of AT&T serving them with DSL anytime soon are slim and none.
