I find writing lists helpful. But this article makes me think that I don’t always write exhaustively enough or look for patterns to emerge. I also tend to write these lists on very limited issues. The latest ones I recall are lists about what I am or should be thankful for. And I probably don’t do that enough.
I do try to map out significant projects in my Moleskine notebook, though perhaps if I did this first, it would be more productive. Writing in the paper notebook is very helpful though, so I think this would be too.
The key in this concept is that it helps us arrive at crystallized ideas faster than we might through trial and error… Anything that lets us test out of the “School of Hard Knocks” is a good thing!
