Mike, my question about these free Web 2.0 applications is... "And you make money how?"

This site makes money through advertising. Depending on what you're promoting that may or may not detract from your course.

Are you thinking of using this for a one time course? Or in lieu of a membership site? I guess that's part of the issue as well.

Also, if they don't make enough money with ads, make sure you have your own backups somewhere safe!

I have authored 3 books and my royalty is 10%.. which is pretty sad. I wanted to do medical continuing ed classes online. Same problem, my work, others take all the money. Then I found a great site, www.myicourse.com. which allows me to create as many classes as I want, at NO COST. I keep all the money. If you want to get out of the publishing world, and keep all the royalties, you should see this site. I went to Google and the reviews for myicourse were all positive. Good luck. MJS

I know plenty of people who want to dabble in self publishing. It seems like everyone wants their own book but they don't want to make plans on how they are going to sell it.

I will definitely be passing this along.
