This is my final post on this subject.

Basically being at the Student Career Fair reminded me of my Trade Show promotion days.

Somehow, people think that just being there counts for actually doing something productive.

It doesn’t.

To translate the time and money spent on a trade or work at home show into results takes hard work. It takes finding a way to get people’s attention and tell them “what’s in it for them”.  If what you’re doing doesn’t result in LEADS, you wasted your time and money.

It’s good to have your “elevator speech” well prepared for a trade show, but before you can give it, you may need to have a lead in question that makes people CARE if they hear your short presentation.

What’s emotional about your product or service that your customer will relate to?

What makes someone excited about wanting to talk to you about your product or service?

Use that to lead and open up the way for your elevator speech and getting their business card.
