Just like Gmail scans incoming mail to trigger news and advertisements, a new technology exists to scan telephone conversations and deliver – theoretically – appropriate ads in “real time” according to the Denver Post.
It’s a smart idea – if you’re talking about something you may have an interest in it.
Computer speech recognition programs do not always deliver relevant ads because – they really don’t “recognize” all that well.
They hope to license the service to Skype or other VOIP providers.

I don’t know if I will be happy or sad with the news.
For entrepreneurs points of view, it is an awesome inventions because they have yet another gateway to earn money but my question is, “How about the privacy of the people using the system?”.
Is there any option that they can turn the system off if the calls they are going make is a private matter?

What would peeve me is if I were paying for a VOIP service and they wanted to pad their profit margin by introducing this too. But on the free services like Skype – IF – it can be perfected I would expect to see it. As they say “There’s no such thing as a free lunch”.
