The young and healthy don’t buy health insurance. So an insurance company is trying to coax them into the system by offering less coverage for lower premiums and giving them the option to buy more later.
According to the story though, young people are better off with Health Savings Accounts and high deductible policies “in case” something catastrophic happens.
It’s an interesting reminder though during this presidential election that the uninsured who don’t have health insurance are often young people who choose not to have it because it’s an expense they don’t think they’ll need any time soon.
