What I’m Deciding About Squidoo

I’ve been looking at the lenses created by Tiffany and Lewis at BuildMyLens.com and I’ve about decided that the secret to Squidoo (in part anyway) is to remember that a lens should be about half entertainment and half information.

Unlike corporate web pages, I think the Squidoo browsers more than most want to be relieved of their boredom, to “connect” with information in a non sales, preselling way… or just spice up their day.

Update: I also forgot to mention that the Tiffany and Lewis lenses do a good job eliminating whitespace. They make a better use of color and variety than most plain “fill in the blank” lenses along with some other special techniques. This goes back tothe boredom relieving factor … But to see what I mean, maybe you just need to hire them and see what they do at BuildMyLens.com

Here’s a lens that tries to deal with a financial topic in a tongue and cheek way I found (it’s NOT one made by Tiffany and Lewis but is inspired by their work though it’s not visually as snazzy)…
